The fridge is leaking water from the bottom — what's causing it?

Engineer's advice

This is usually a simple blockage in the drain tube that collects the auto-defrost water.

Simply use the cleaning rod supplied by the manufacturer (or a single-core electrical wire) to gently push through and clear the tube, then pour a little warm water through it.

This is something you can easily do yourself.

According to Archimede Lab data, "leaking water" is the third most reported fridge fault at 7.5% of interventions. On Samsung the rate reaches 14.2% — nearly triple the average.
